Born and raised in the Midwest, I come from hard-working people. I’m the daughter of a Vietnam War veteran, granddaughter of a coal miner, and great-granddaughter of a midwife. Perseverance runs in the family. I’m a first-generation college graduate with a BFA in Studio Art, emphasizing Graphic Design, from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. I worked in the restaurant industry for a decade to support myself through college, an experience that still influences how I approach my work today.
An artist at heart, I’ve spent my career bringing ideas to life across agency and in-house teams. From art directing commercials and designing websites to building brands from scratch, I enjoy the variety of figuring out what a project needs and finding the right way to bring it to life. My favorite corners of design are editorial and publication design, typography, and illustration. My work has been recognized with a Healthcare Advertising Award and several AIGA Nebraska Show awards for publication design. I believe good work comes from good collaboration, and I especially love working with talented writers and helping people learn and grow through design.
My Myers-Briggs is an ENFP. My top 5 Clifton StrengthsFinder® are Strategic, Futuristic, Individualization, Empathy, and Ideation. My sun sign is Cancer (with a Virgo moon and Aquarius rising, if you’re into that). My Enneagram is Type 4. I enjoy a multitude of hobbies such as cooking, baking, hiking, camping, traveling, and ballet. My love for art extends to frequent visits to art museums, and I am always eager to try something new. I am also a devoted dog-mom to Odin, my Shetland Sheepdog, who accompanies me on many of my adventures.
